For many of us, the image of Marilyn or Bette Davis or Joan Crawford in mink sparked a love affair with those precious pelts. When a woman purchases her first fur coat, it’s almost always a mink.

Blow on the fur and look at the cotton-knit base to see if the knitting is consistent and even. Look for overall consistent hair height and luster, density and plush underwool. The outer fur should always look luxuriously soft and shiny and should be longer than the fur on the inner layers.

Buying Furs On Ebay Knit Mink Fur Capes Mink Jackets

I am in the fur business for over 35 years, I am the third generation furrier. The business has changed drastically over the past 10 years. I sold over 1000 furs on ebay in the past, furs we had over stocked, furs that we took in for trade or furs that we discontinued.

I was just surfing on ebay and I found a selection of furs fron China which were priced far less than I pay for them. I was amazed at the pricing and the value that was offered online by some ebay sellers. 

I too buy from China, but you never know what the next company has to offer, so saw some great value,some  fabulous pictures which represent the product, some great ratings about the seller, so I tested the purchase buy bidding and buying. 

The first piece arrived, nothing like the picture, the fur quality was poor, the knitting of the mink was of poor quality and a different color, the silver fox, which was to be bright was dull. Not good.

My second purchase was 3 fabulous furs, a full skin mink jacket, a ivory knit mink, and another knit mink. It has been almost 4 weeks, I still have not received. I sent 3 emails requesting shipping information, but to date received no info.

When you buy from China or any other country, what you need is an agent which inspects the furs prior to shipping. The agent does add a cost to the fur, but atleast you get what you
