Seduced by Fur Scarves

Scarves are the ultimate Fall/Winter accessory because they can “class” up any outfit without even trying. Want a quick way to turn jeans and a t-shirt into an acceptable evening look? Throw on a scarf. Turn a plain black evening dress into an unforgettable red carpet worthy look by adding a chic fur scarf. The Fall 2013 season has taken this classic accessory and given consumers something to look forward to.

Long and Luscious

Just like a flowing mane of hair, the elongated scarf is sexy, flirty and adds a dash of mystique. Regardless of the fabric or print a longer scarf can do double duty as a shawl/wrap thrown on for cooler evenings on the town. A hidden secret of many stylists is that a longer scarf is a fail safe choice for those who find themselves fighting the battle of the bulge because it helps to elongate the torso and  provides an instant overall lift to your look.

Short &  Sweet

When you think of shorter scarves your mind automatically tends to think bulky and constrictive. Not so as scarves have become far more light weight and versatile, especially when it comes to fur scarves. The advancements in knitting have made fur scarves lighter, more breathable and far easier to wear year round.

Shopping for The Most Perfect Fur Coat

Shopping for The Most Perfect Fur Coat

A long, luxurious mink coat often conjures up images of periods in our history. Golden ages, when furs meant royalty, nobility, and the elites of their time. Now, furs are more accessible than ever, and the most difficult part of finding a fur is choosing what sort of fur coat is the right one for you.

Getting your hands on the coat of your dreams, whether long fur coats, mink coats or any other type is a breeze-especially in the age of the internet, where you have a world of choices with just a few clicks. Sometimes, all the choices can make it even harder to narrow down what you want. You want to do more than just find a great deal on a fur coat. You want to find the fur that will showcase your unique style. To help you do that, we’ve come up with a few tips to help you choose the best fur coat so that you can be sure that you’re delighted with your investment for a long time.

Tips for Choosing the Best Fur Coat

  • Consider your needs. Are you looking for something that you hope to wear for a very long time or are you looking for something more fashion forward and trendy? Is it strictly for special occasions, in which case a long fur coat might be best, or do you want something to wear with anything, including jeans, like a shorter mink coat or jacket? Determining your need will make it easier to narrow things down.
  • Have a budget and an open mind. We’d all love to get our hands on a gorgeous long fur coat or glamorous mink fur coat for bargain basement prices, but if a good coat is what you’re after then you’ll need to keep an open mind as far as budget goes. Don’t throw your budget out the window and give in to a whim, either! Just have a little leeway to play with.
  • Peruse the types of furs available. It may seem that mink fur coats are the coat to have, but after a little research you may find that you prefer the look of chinchilla or fox. All furs offer you a very different look and feel, so getting to know the different types of fur will make choosing a lot easier.
  • Browse the styles. I don’t mean as in long fur coats or short, I mean sheared or non sheared, dyed or natural furs. If you prefer a classic look then long fur coat or short, you’ll be best off with something natural in color. Furs come dyed in all kinds of fashionable and even outlandish colors for those looking for something bold and unique.

Look for things like shine and fur length. The outer fur should always look luxuriously soft and shiny and should be longer than the fur on the inner layers. This can actually mean the difference between a coat that looks high quality and one that just looks cheap

Spotted! Sienna Miller Fails To Go Incognito In Huge Fur Hood

Sienna's new street style had everyone staring

Sienna Miller hid from the paparazzi in an oversized fur lined parka jacket this week but we spotted her straight away as she climbed into a cab in New York's Soho.

Sporting minimal make up and embroidered red and gold ankle boots, the actress almost gave us the slip as she stopped at a cash machine before hailing a cab in NYC.

Once the poster girl for boho chic, Sienna was famed for her blonde locks and sunny, hippy style but since becoming a mother to baby Marlowe the 31-year-old has embraced a grungy, urban vibe.

A marl coloured jumper, cute pastel necklace and loose fit grey trousers peeked out from underneath Sienna's massive black parka, which kept her warm from the biting New York cold and doubled as a disguise from the paprazzi... for all of 5 minutes!

It wasn't long before they spotted her sparkling engagement ring, given to Sienna by her partner, Tom Sturridge, 27. The couple now live in New York with their baby Marlowe Ottoline, who was born in July 2012.

We could do with a practical outfit like this in this weather - check out our pictures capturing how Sienna kept warm from head to toe...

Wrap Yourself Up In The Season's Most Luxurious Gift

These past few seasons we witnessed fur fashion designers reinterpret the vest into a myriad of lengths, shapes, and overall use that ranged from the classic men’s third suit item to cuirass-like shapes and even the popular coat-length versions. The creative baton has now passed on and the new focus is the neck region.

Is it simply something that can be draped around the neck, resting elegantly onto the shoulders in the process? Not exclusively, if you follow what has been presented these past two fall-winter seasons. Scarves are doing a creative 360 and seducing a new swath of the populace.

Check out the cowl or ring scarves. These are everywhere this season and look AMAZING! This surprisingly “highbrow” chic look translates effortlessly into a greater variety of spin-offs. It is only a matter of time before high-school and college students start adopting it as a stylish uniform, the same way society doyennes have for some time.
