Description
A ranch mink jacket cut at the hip, with a chinchilla shawl collar that stands on its own and chinchilla cuffs to match. Ranch mink is the darkest of the natural mink shades and takes light as a low sheen rather than a shine; against it, the banded pale grey of chinchilla reads almost silver. That contrast is the design — there is no other trim on the piece.
Chinchilla is the lightest and softest fur in the trade, which is why it belongs at the collar and cuffs, where it sits against the skin. The jacket weighs six pounds, and the short length carries over trousers or a dress without swamping either.
