Description
The sleeve is the whole idea. It runs close to the arm to just below the elbow, then breaks into a deep puffed bell of fur, caught back at the wrist by a narrow leather strap and buckle so the volume sits where you want it. This black mink coat with notch collar carries the same restraint everywhere else: a broad notched lapel folded deep across the chest, a twin-buckle belt in crocodile-embossed leather drawing the waist, and a body that falls unbroken to the ankle. The shade is a true near-black that reads blue-black under daylight and solid black indoors.
The pelts are matched by hand for density and nap direction before they are cut, which is what keeps the colour even where the sleeve joins the body and stops the gathered cuff reading as bulk. It is made and altered in our own West 30th Street workroom, and it will be fitted to you before it leaves.
See it beside the rest of our black mink coats, or the whole run of our full length mink coats. Every piece we sell can be stored, cleaned and repaired in our own cold vaults through the summer, cleaned and conditioned each season, and remodeled later if you want the shape brought up to date. It is photographed with a matching hat and bag; the coat is sold on its own.
