Description
Horizontal work means the pelts run across the body rather than down it, so the coat reads in rows and the seams catch light one band at a time. It takes more skins and far more seaming than a straight coat, and it is why the fur sits in relief instead of lying flat.
The blue is dyed, and a strong colour like this shows the banding more clearly than a natural shade would. Stroller length, hip to mid-thigh. Seven pounds.
This is altered in our own New York workroom before it ships. We take in, let out, shorten and reline, and the fitting is part of the price.
