Description
Horizontal grooved pelting defines the structured body of this cropped jacket, crafted from natural ivory rex rabbit with a soft, uniform hand. The cut features a broad fold-over collar that frames the neck, straight sleeves finished cleanly above the wrist, and a gently rounded lower front edge. A concealed front closure keeps the horizontal lines continuous from the neck to the waist.
In this construction, horizontal means the pelts run across the body in level, parallel bands rather than vertically, creating defined tiers that give form to the dense underfur. The 6 lbs weight provides a solid, protective drape that keeps the waist-length cut anchored close to the frame in cold winds.
Like all Marc Kaufman garments, it is made and altered in our own New York workroom, and will be fitted before it leaves to ensure an exact line through the shoulders and waist.
