Description
Mink takes a pale dye evenly because the underfur is so dense and fine, which is what lets a colour this soft stay even from shoulder to hem instead of going patchy across the seams.
The collar and cuffs are white fox, and the contrast is the point of the design. Fox has long guard hair and stands away from the body; mink lies flat and close. Putting one against the other gives the coat its shape at the neck and wrist. Full length, nine pounds.
This is altered in our own New York workroom before it ships. We take in, let out, shorten and reline, and the fitting is part of the price.
