Description
The leather is what makes this one. Narrow strips run between vertical bands of deep near-black ranch mink, so the fur reads as panels rather than one solid sweep, and the coat keeps its line without the weight a full skin-on-skin body would carry. It is cut as a stroller, three-quarter length between a jacket and a full-length coat, and the hem is cut to flare, so it swings away from the leg as you walk instead of hanging straight.
The pelts are matched by hand for density and nap direction before they are cut, which is what keeps the colour even across every seam and stops the leather inserts pulling the shape out of true. It is made and altered in our own West 30th Street workroom, and it will be fitted to you before it leaves.
Every piece we sell can be stored in our own cold vaults through the summer, cleaned and conditioned each season, and remodeled later if you want the shape brought up to date.
