Description
No collar at all is a harder thing to cut than it looks. This blue cardigan neckline crop mink jacket opens in a clean round curve with no facing to hide behind, which means the skins have to meet exactly at the edge and stay flat there. Done properly it sits like knitwear; done badly it ripples the moment you move.
Two rows of pearl-and-gold buttons run down the front, repeated at the cuff, and there are flapped patch pockets at the hip — the detailing of a tweed jacket, executed in fur. It ends at the natural waist, so it works over a dress, a trouser or a jean without shortening anything.
The shade is a soft powder blue that stays clean and cold rather than drifting grey. Cut and fitted in our own West 30th Street workroom. Compare it with the other blues we carry or every short fur jacket we make, and remember a dyed piece is better for an annual clean — we vault and clean in our own building. Bag and boots are styling only.
