Designer Burgundy Mink Bustier with Matching Mink Stole Topper 2098

Description

The same two pieces in a colour that behaves completely differently. The burgundy mink bustier is cut short and boned to sit at the natural waist on its own, fastened up the centre front with three buttons covered in the same pelt, on a straight strapless neckline.

The matching topper is cropped to the ribs with elbow-length sleeves and a shawl collar that rolls open. Both are worked in horizontal bands. Where the pale version reads quiet, this one reads deliberate: a saturated red-brown that holds its colour under candlelight instead of going flat, which is the usual failure of a dyed pelt in a dim room. The dye is taken all the way through, so a parting in the pile shows the same shade at the root.

Photographed over leather in the same tone, which is the boldest way to wear it, though a black trouser does the work too. Made in our workroom on West 30th Street and alterable to fit.
