The same cut in the darker of the two colours, and the one that reads as evening without any help. This burgundy mink fur waterfall vest is sleeveless, collared to a deep V that runs from shoulder to waist without a break, and cut high-low: clear of the knee at the side, cascading to mid-calf in front.

A rectangular crystal buckle closes the matching belt at the natural waist, which is what turns two hanging panels into a shape. The shade is a deep red-brown that changes with the light — almost black away from a lamp, and clearly red under one — because the guard hair takes the dye differently from the underfur beneath it. That is a property of the pelt rather than a trick of the colour, and it is why this one photographs so well at night.
