Color Block Mink Cape with Black Fox Trim Hood 5432

Description

Squares of brown, cream and black mink are set edge to edge across the body of this cape, with a band of black fox running the front opening, the cuffs and the hem. It closes with a zip to a standing fox collar, and the sleeves fall wide and open to just below the elbow.

Color block is exactly what it sounds like in the trade: whole pelts of different natural shades cut to matching squares and joined so the seams read as a pattern rather than as construction. It takes pelts of even depth to do it without one square sitting proud of the next, and the fox border gives the hem weight so the cape hangs rather than swings.

Made and altered in our own workroom in the New York fur district, where Marc Kaufman Furs has worked since 1870. Every piece is fitted to you before it leaves us.
