Description
Constructed as a wide, structured band, this tall hat is fashioned from crystal fox pelts with prominent guard hairs and dense underfur. The thick pelts encircle the head uniformly, creating a deep profile that sits low on the forehead. The natural silver and brown banding of the fur is visible across the entire outer surface.
Working with horizontal pelts means the skins are arranged side by side running across the body of the hat, emphasizing the distinct natural tipping of the material. This method creates a continuous ring of texture around the crown, matching the weight of 1 lbs. The density of the guard hairs provides substantial volume to the band structure.
Every piece is made and altered in our own New York workroom, and will be fitted before it leaves.
