Description
Cashmere wool and fox, both dyed to one saturated fuchsia. That is the design: because the trim matches the cloth instead of contrasting with it, the fox reads as texture rather than as a border, and the whole cape is a single colour from the collar to the hem.
It works because the two materials take the same dye completely differently. Cashmere holds it flat and even; fox has long guard hair over a dense underfur, so the same shade comes back deeper in the pile and lighter at the tips, and moves as you do. Set one against the other at one colour and you get depth without a second shade anywhere on the piece.
Cut as a true cape – it falls from the shoulder and swings, with the arms through the sides rather than into sleeves – and finished with fox at the collar, down both front edges, around the hem, and in three bands at each cuff. Four pounds, which is light for this much warmth.
