Description
A royal blue full length fox coat, dyed a proper saturated blue rather than the washed-out pastel that passes for it elsewhere. Fox takes colour better than any other fur because the guard hair is long enough to hold the tone while the underfur stays paler underneath — which is what gives a dyed fox its depth instead of the flat, painted look of a cheap job.
Full length, with the weight and sweep that only a long coat has. Worn open it moves; closed it reads as one deep column of colour.
How to wear it
Let it be the whole outfit. Black or charcoal underneath, simple lines. A blue this strong does not want a pattern anywhere near it.
Silver rather than gold. Cool metal sits better against a cool colour, and one piece is plenty.
About the piece
Made and finished by hand at 212 West 30th Street, where we have been furriers since 1870. Alterations are done here rather than sent out.
