Every moto jacket is really a belt with a jacket built around it. Undo it and the shape goes: the front hangs straight, the zips sit flat, and what is left is a boxy blouson. Buckle it and the whole garment pulls in at the narrowest point and flares again over the hip, which is the entire reason the pattern has survived eighty years.
That matters more in fur than in leather, because fur has loft and loft reads as width. This black mink biker jacket is cut with the waist taken in before the belt goes anywhere near it, so the belt sharpens a shape that is already there rather than strangling a straight one. The offset zip runs from hip to collarbone, the lapel folds back along it, and there are epaulettes at each shoulder and a zip at each cuff.
