This is the one that looks like a sable and is not. The top bands of this brown degrade horizontal mink coat are a light honey with the guard hair lifting to gold, and they darken through chestnut to a deep chocolate at the hem — the same movement a good sable makes, at a fraction of what a sable costs, and in a fur that takes daily wear far better.

The belt is leather here rather than suede, and it is what stops the gradient turning the coat into a column. Tied at the waist it breaks the run of bands in exactly the right place. The hood is oversized, lined in the same fur, and deep enough to sit up around the face rather than slide back.
