Designer Whiskey Brown Mink Coat with Leather Trim 3096

Description

Whiskey mink is worked through the body of this coat, cut close over the bodice and released into a full skirt that falls to mid-calf. Three tan leather tabs fasten across the chest, each studded and buckled, and the same leather bands the forearm above deep fur cuffs. The sleeves are gathered high at the shoulder and bell out below the elbow; the collar stands rather than folds.

The shape is doing something a straight coat cannot: fitting the waist and letting the skirt swing needs the pelts cut on a curve and resewn to widen as they fall, which is slower work than a panel that runs straight to the hem. Puffed sleeves want the same treatment at the shoulder or they collapse. The leather is what holds all of it in place — the tabs take the strain a fur closure would spread, and the cuff bands stop the bell from turning back.
