Description
Black mink runs the full length of this coat to the ankle, gathered at the waist by a self belt, with black fox worked into the hood, the deep turned-back cuffs and a band above the hem. The hood is cut large and frames the face when it is up.
The fox is doing structural work here, not only decorative: a heavy fox border at the hem holds the coat’s line against the wind, and the same fur in the hood keeps its shape rather than collapsing on the shoulders. Full length means it finishes at the ankle; the belt lets a straight cut be worn fitted or loose.
Made and altered in our own workroom in the New York fur district, where Marc Kaufman Furs has worked since 1870. Every piece is fitted to you before it leaves us.
