Description

The border at the hem is cut to run across the jacket where the body runs down it. That is the entire trick: two planes of the same pelt meeting at a right angle, so one catches light where the other absorbs it and the jacket finishes on a clear horizontal line instead of trailing off at the bottom.

A pale colour is where you can actually see it. On this light blue mink jacket the border reads as a distinct band from across a room, where on a black one you would have to be close enough to touch it. The shade is a cold clear blue, dyed through to the root so a parting in the pile shows the same colour underneath.
