Description
Degrade is not a dye job you can fake. Every band on this purple degrade horizontal mink coat is a separate run of skins, graded by hand and set in sequence so the colour moves from a pale lilac across the shoulders down through violet to a near-black aubergine at the hem. Put one band out of order and the whole gradient reads as a mistake.
Because the bands run horizontally they also widen the shoulder and draw the eye down, which is why the shape works at full length. The hood is oversized and lined in the same fur, and a self-tie belt in matching suede pulls the waist in — without it the coat hangs straight and loses the line entirely.
Graded, cut and fitted in our own West 30th Street workroom. See it against the rest of our coloured furs or the full run of full length coats. A shaded coat rewards an annual clean, which keeps the pale end from dulling, and we vault and clean in our own building. Bag and boots are styling only.
