Description

A full-length red mink, let out: each pelt is cut into diagonal strips and resewn into one long narrow band, so the fur runs in unbroken vertical lines from the shoulder to the hem. That is what gives the skirt its drape and its swing. A coat built from whole skins cannot move like this.

The collar is notched and sits open at the throat, the cuffs are wide, and the colour is a dyed true red rather than a russet or a burgundy. At nine pounds this is a full winter coat, and the length carries the weight down through the skirt where it belongs.

Every fur we sell is made and altered in our own New York workroom. We size, shorten, restyle and reline, and this coat will be fitted to you before it leaves us.
