Description

Most fur is bought to be the whole outfit. This one is bought to finish one. The black mink jacket stops at the natural waist, so a high trouser or a full skirt stays visible underneath it instead of vanishing under a hem, and that single decision is why it works over evening clothes that already have a shape of their own.

There is no fastening. The front is worked edge to edge and meant to hang open, with a small rolled collar that sits up against the neck rather than lying flat across the shoulder. The sleeves are the point: three-quarter length, close through the upper arm, then released into a deep flounce that falls from just below the elbow and swings clear of the wrist. Nothing catches in it and everything on the forearm stays on show.

Black is the hardest shade to photograph and the easiest to wear, and this pelt is dense enough that the flounce keeps its shape instead of collapsing against the arm. See the rest of our mink jackets, the darker end of the range in black mink coats, and bring it in each spring to be cleaned and cold stored by the workroom that cut it.
