The long one. Where the rest of this design stops at the hip, the men’s blue trimmed white mink runs on to mid-thigh, which changes what it is for: this is the piece for three hours in an open stand in January rather than the walk from the car. The extra length is all white skins worked vertically, so the coat hangs straight and heavy, and the royal blue and red band that runs down both sides of the zip runs the full length with it.

Same full hood as the jackets, same zip to the chin, same single band of colour round each forearm. Under it the photograph has a red roll neck and a jean, which is about right; the coat is warm enough that whatever is beneath it is a choice, not a necessity. New Jersey wears these colours, and so does anyone who likes red and blue on white.
