Description
The women’s cut of our striped hooded jacket, in black mink with New England’s navy, red and grey. Black changes the job the stripes do. On the white men’s version they are the accent; here they are the light, three bands of dyed mink running down each sleeve from the shoulder and crossing both flap pockets, and everything else on the jacket falls back to let them read. It is a graphic piece worn with black leggings and boots, and a surprisingly quiet one worn over a dress.
The body is black mink worked in horizontal bands, which gives it a soft ribbed texture you only see up close and a slightly padded silhouette you see from across the street. The hood is cut from the same fur and sits flat between the shoulders when it is down. A centre zip runs to the neck, the sleeves are full enough for a sweater underneath, and the hem stops at the hip so the jacket stays square rather than swallowing the waist.
Made and fitted in our own workroom on West 30th Street. The same striping is cut for men as a white mink hooded jacket, it sits among our black mink coats, and after the season it can come back to be stored, cleaned and repaired by the people who made it. Sold on its own; the leggings and boots are styling.
