Description
Green, white and grey on black mink, the colours Boston and New York’s football crowd share, in the women’s cut of our striped hooded jacket. Of the four stripings this is the one that looks most like it belongs on a fur: a deep green next to black is a classic pairing, and the white and grey bands between them are narrow enough to sharpen it without shouting. The stripes run down the outside of each sleeve from the shoulder and across both flap pockets at the hip, and the rest of the jacket is left plain black so the green does all the work.
The body is worked in horizontal bands of black mink, which gives it a ribbed surface and a little more structure through the chest and shoulder than a plain jacket. A hood in the same fur, a zip that runs from the hem to the chin, and a hem that ends at the hip. It is built for cold evenings outdoors and it closes properly, which is not true of every fur jacket sold as a hooded one. The stripes are dyed mink pieced into the black rather than trim laid over it, so the pile is continuous and the edges never lift.
Made in our own workroom on West 30th Street and fitted to you here. The men’s version is the green striped white mink jacket, this one sits with our mink jackets, and it can come back to us each spring to be stored, cleaned and repaired. Sold on its own; the leggings and boots are styling.
