Boston’s green on white mink. The jacket is the same horizontal hooded cut as our orange and blue version, but the stripes change everything about how it reads: a band of kelly green, a band of black and a fine grey edge run down each sleeve from the shoulder, and the same three colours cross both flap pockets at the hip. The stripes are dyed mink, pieced into the white, so they have the same pile and the same movement as the body of the jacket rather than sitting on it like tape.

White mink worked in horizontal bands does something a vertical coat cannot: the seams catch the light as ridges, and the whole jacket looks quilted from ten feet away. The hood is full, cut from the same skins and lined to go up in real snow. A centre zip runs to the neck and the hem stops at the hip, which keeps it square over a wide jean. It photographs the way it wears: big in the shoulder, clean at the waist.
