Description
Worked horizontally, so the white mink runs in bands across the body and around each sleeve instead of the usual vertical skins. It is a construction that only shows on a light colour: on white, every seam between the bands reads as a soft ridge and the jacket takes on a quilted, almost padded look with nothing but fur in it. The hood is cut from the same mink and framed in it, deep enough to go up over a cap.
The stripes do the talking. Each flap pocket is banded royal blue, orange and blue again, and the same three stripes run the length of both sleeves from shoulder to cuff, worked in dyed mink rather than ribbon so they wear as fur. Orange and royal blue are New York’s basketball colours, which is why it was photographed where it was. A zip closes the front and the body ends at the hip, so it sits over a jean the way a varsity jacket does.
Cut and fitted in our own West 30th Street workroom, and altered here if the sleeve or the body needs it. It belongs with the rest of our men’s furs, sits beside the quieter pieces among our white mink coats, and like everything we sell it can be stored, cleaned and repaired here for as long as you own it. Sold on its own; the jeans and the chain are styling.
