Purple and gold on black is the pairing that made this design worth doing in a dark fur. On this women’s purple striped black mink the stripe runs a royal purple beside gold from the top of each shoulder to the cuff, and the same two colours cross both flap pockets; against black the gold is the brightest thing in the picture and the purple reads as depth rather than colour. Minneapolis wears exactly this, all winter.

The body is black skins worked in horizontal bands, a hood cut from the same fur, a zip to the chin and a hem at the hip. Black makes it the most wearable piece on the collection away from the stadium: over a black legging and a heeled boot it is simply a black fur with a stripe, and nobody at dinner will ask who you support.
