Description
Burgundy is the evening colour of the four. This burgundy mink coat with stand collar is dyed a deep wine that reads almost black indoors and comes alive under a street lamp, where the red in it shows on every ridge of the fur. The covered buttons match the coat, so the diagonal row from the collar to the hip is felt as a line rather than seen as a row of dots, and the whole piece stays one colour from the collar to the point of the hem.
Same cut as the rest of the set: a high stand collar, a seamed waist that gives the coat a shape of its own, three buttons at each cuff, and the asymmetrical hem, short over one hip and falling to the knee on the other. It is a coat for dinner and the theatre before it is a coat for the school run, and it was photographed accordingly.
Made and fitted in our own workroom on West 30th Street. It belongs with our red mink coats, it is on the clearance rail for now, and it can come back to us each spring to be stored, cleaned and repaired. Sold on its own; the bag, boots and headband are styling.
