Black and gold on white, and the first of our pairs photographed on two people who have been going to games together for thirty years. This couples gold trimmed white mink set is the men’s and the women’s hooded jacket of the same design, sold as one: white skins worked vertically, a full hood on each, a zip to the chin, and a band of gold edged in black running down both sides of the zip and once round each forearm. Pittsburgh wears these colours, and so does anyone who has ever owned a black and gold scarf.

It is a gift that fits, because we fit it. Both jackets are made in our own workroom on West 30th Street and altered here together, so a sleeve comes up or a hem comes down while you wait, and the two hang the same on two very different frames. The hood goes up in real snow on either of you and lies flat between the shoulders when it is down.

Each jacket has its own page on the Game Day collection, beside the green, blue, navy and purple versions of the same pair. The set is on our fur clearance sale for now, and both pieces can come back to us each spring to be stored, cleaned and repaired by the people who made them.
