Description
Two jackets in one, which is the whole point of it. This black mink fur bomber jacket is photographed twice: once with the hood up and full of fur, once with the hood unzipped and a stand collar left in its place. The same garment, worn two ways, and the change takes about ten seconds. In black the fur is so dark it reads as texture rather than colour until the light catches the guard hair.
The body is a proper blouson: elastic at the cuff and at the hem so it blouses over the waistband, a zip that runs to the chin, two buttoned cargo pockets set high on the chest and two hand pockets seamed in below them. The hair is left long, not sheared, so the jacket has weight and the pile moves. It was photographed over a straight jean and nothing else, which is how a man should wear it.
Cut and fitted in our own workroom on West 30th Street, where the sleeve length is set to you before it leaves. It sits with the rest of our men’s fur bomber jackets and our men’s mink coats, and it comes back to us each spring to be stored, cleaned and repaired by the people who made it.
