Fox Fur Bags

A fox fur bag is the piece that carries a plain coat. Each one is built on a proper lined body and covered in full fox pelts, with the strap furred to match, so it reads as a made bag rather than a fur pouch. Eight colours, including black, grey and powder blue for the quiet end, and orange, yellow, purple and royal blue when the bag is meant to be the loudest thing you have on.

The fur runs one direction across the front so the nap lies flat when the bag hangs, which is the detail that separates a fur bag that keeps its shape from one that goes shaggy in a season. The body is lined and structured underneath; the fur is worked over it rather than sewn into a bag on its own.

Two of these are cut as pocketbooks rather than shoulder bags, in powder blue and purple. Colour for colour they are the same pelts and the same construction, just a different body underneath, so it is worth looking at both shapes before choosing.

Every bag is made, altered and repaired in our own West 30th Street workroom. Fur on a bag takes more handling than fur on a coat, so bring it in once a season and we will clean, condition and re-set the nap.
