Fox Fur Headbands
A fox fur headband is the warmest thing you can wear that still lets you keep your hair down. Ours are cut from full fox pelts and mounted on a stretch band, so the fur sits around the head without gripping, covers the ears and the nape, and comes off without flattening anything. Thirteen colours, from natural silver and crystal fox through to black, white, navy, emerald, scarlet and two pinks.
The pelts are matched by hand before they are cut. On a piece this small the difference between two skins shows immediately, so the guard hair has to run the same length and lie the same way across the whole band. Natural shades are undyed fox; the brights are dyed on selected white pelts, which is what keeps a colour like emerald or hot pink clear rather than muddy.
A headband is the piece most people buy first. It is worn over a coat of any kind, it packs flat, and it survives being pushed into a bag in a way a hat does not. If you are buying for someone else, the band fits nearly everyone, which makes it the safest fur to choose without a fitting.
Every piece is made, altered and repaired in our own West 30th Street workroom. Bring one back at any time to be cleaned and conditioned, or stored with your coat through the summer.
