The black mink coat: timeless, powerful, endlessly wearable
A black mink coat is the one every wardrobe should own. Black reads as elegant and serious, hides wear, and pairs with everything — which is why it's the most versatile mink you can buy. Marc Kaufman Furs has crafted black mink in New York City since 1870, and this collection brings together black mink coats, jackets, and strollers in both natural and dyed finishes.
Blackglama and natural ranch mink
The finest natural black mink is Blackglama — the trademarked name for the deepest, darkest ranch mink raised in North America. A Blackglama mink coat isn't dyed; its rich near-black color is entirely natural, prized for its clarity and sheen. Alongside Blackglama we offer jet-black dyed mink and sheared black mink for a soft, velvet texture. Choose a full-length black mink coat for classic drama, or a black mink jacket or stroller for versatile everyday luxury.
Why buy black mink from a furrier
Depth of color is everything in black mink, and lesser coats often look flat or brown-cast. Our specialists match pelts by hand for an even, lustrous black, and back every coat with the cleaning, glazing, and cold storage that keep the color deep for decades. That craftsmanship is what separates a Kaufman black mink coat from an off-the-rack one.
