We make our fur blankets by hand in our Manhattan workroom on West 30th Street, where Marc Kaufman Furs has practiced traditional furrier craftsmanship since 1870. Each piece is constructed by joining full pelts chosen for matching hair density, thickness, and color. Mink is a durable fur with short, glossy guard hairs protecting a dense underfur, making it resilient enough for daily placement on beds or furniture. Russian sable is distinctly lightweight yet provides high warmth through its dense, silky underfur. Fox fur features longer hair that creates a full, lofty blanket with strong heat retention. Coyote fur offers a rugged, dense texture with stiff guard hairs that resist wear and keep their structure over decades of use.
The collection features king size blankets and king size bedspreads cut generously to cover standard and oversized beds or to serve as expansive throws in large living rooms. Pelts are matched across the entire width and length to ensure an even surface and balance. Color options include natural pelts and drum-dyed tones. We work with natural brown mink and clean white mink, as well as dyed burgundy mink. Fox selections span natural silver fox and red fox, alongside dyed pelts in bright yellow, royal blue, and emerald green. Our coyote blankets showcase natural pale grey, tan, and brown tones, while Russian sable maintains its deep, muted brown shades.
