Royal blue and red on white is a flag, and this women’s blue trimmed white mink wears it like one. The two colours sit side by side in a single band that runs down both edges of the zip and round each forearm, dyed mink let into the white so the band has the same pile as the body and never lifts. It is the most graphic of the three trims we make this piece in, and the one that needs the least underneath it: white leggings, a red roll neck, done.

The body is white skins worked vertically, which keeps the jacket sleek and lets it hang straight from the shoulder. A full hood in the same fur, a zip to the chin, and a hem at the hip. The headband in the photograph is a separate piece; the jacket comes without it.

Made and fitted in our own workroom on West 30th Street. It belongs with our white mink coats, the men’s coat in the same colours and the pair are on the Game Day collection, and it can come back to us each spring to be stored, cleaned and repaired.
