Pale fur is the one people talk themselves out of, and they are usually wrong about why. An ivory mink crop jacket is not more delicate than a dark one — it simply shows a season’s wear where a black one hides it, which is an argument for cleaning it every year rather than for not owning it. Ours come back through our own vaults each summer, and the colour comes back with them.

The shade is a soft unbleached cream rather than a stark white, so it sits against skin instead of draining it, and the gold buckles read warm against it rather than brash. Five crocodile-embossed leather straps close the front from the stand collar down, with the same leather at the hem and cuffs, and the jacket stops at the natural waist.
