Description
White fur asks a question nobody answers before they buy it, which is what happens to it afterwards. The honest reply is that it shows everything — a collar mark, a splash from a kerb, the inside of a taxi door — and that it stays beautiful for decades regardless, provided it is cleaned by people who work with fur rather than with cloth. We have done that in the same building for five generations.
The garment is a pure snow white, cooler and brighter than the ivory cut to the same pattern, and cropped to end at the natural waist. The front is open with no closure, the collar is a small rounded stand, and the three-quarter sleeves widen into a flounce that begins below the elbow. Against black it is the strongest contrast in the whole set; against white it stops being a colour and becomes texture.
Kept properly, a white mink jacket outlasts several changes of whatever is being worn underneath it. See the rest of our mink jackets and the paler end of the range in white mink coats, and use our cleaning and cold storage every spring, because on this colour it is not optional.
